June 13th Another series of Roary is in the can. Voices going well, as is comedy and various podcasts. Found this Rich Johnstone caricature of me that he did for my voice CD many years ago. Very good, I thought.
May 31st Why not pay a visit to my excellent new podcast, Comedians Talking ? Meanwhile, my career, which I know you all follow so closely, has been positively soaring. I have moved house again. I have been uttering comedy with the likes of George Egg, Bennett Arron, Smug Roberts, Andy Robinson, Stephen Grant, Brendon Burns, Helmut and others. I have been uttering podcasts - on comedy and on commodities. I have been uttering commercials for car insurance, Responsible Travel, Total, various Bruce Willis films on Channel 5, various programmes on BBC Prime, what is on this June on Sky Comedy. I shall be uttering more Roary The Racing Car next week and I lost the bidding for a bike I wanted on ebay. My ankles hurt, hay fever is starting to kick in and I'm quite enjoying not having a beard. There are a lot of Charlie Uniform November Tangos out there who have been trying to Foxtrot Underscore Charlie Kilo me over lately, some with success, but there are also a lot of nice people too. Unfortunately, they don't stick in the mind as much. Those who have been trying to Foxtrot Uniform Charlie Kilo me over, if you are reading this, you know who you are and jolly well stop it. there, that told you. May 13th, 2007 What a sad day for beard lovers around the world. My beard was shaved off live on stage at Downstairs At The Kings Head. See it here on YouTube. On the bill last night were Alex Horne, Howard Read, Diane Morgan, Rob Hitchmough and Simon Brodkin as Lee Nelsy Nelson. Did a couple of Jongleurs this week too - Oxford on Friday with mark Walker, Inder manocha and Mil McCabe. And Reading with Dave Haddingham, Tony Law and Nick Revell. Roary The Racing Car appears to be doing well. Also voiced some new BMI radio ads this week with Andrew Lincoln; and some Chiltern Railways. I have also started a new podcast called Comedians Talking in which I talk to comedians about comedy. Listen to it here. It's going to get very good. Reg Hunter and Otiz canneloni have both appeared so far and both were in excellent form. Listen to it here - or subscribe via itunes.
28/4/07 Hello All, Now back from Manchester where we were recording some more Roary (with Peter Kay, Maria Darling, Marc Silk and Tim Whitnall) . A couple of good episodes in there. I still think the episodes I submitted were as strong as any, and I can't believe they weren't accepted, but what does one do? The series goes to air sometime soon on Channel 5's Milkshake. We went to see Peter in The Producers and he was hilarious. I keep saying it, but the guy is a comic genius - an overused expression, but one that genuinly applies. He is so loved and he's up there with the greatest. He will be remembered as fondly as Eric Morecambe and others. I voiced some more Science Of Star Wars this week. On the Internet Movie Data Base website, it says Science Of Star Wars with Dominic Frisby, Alec Guinness, Samuel L Jackson, Liam Neeson etc. Proper billing, what? Also voiced the latest Busch Gardens and SeaWorld Orlando campaigns for Michael Parker, as well as various promos for those lovely chaps from Smithereen. Thursday I was in Bishops Stortford at one of the worst nights of comedy I have experienced in years with Jeff Innocent, Russell Kane and Scott Denyer. Just terrible. We all had shit gigs. All sorts of little things were wrong and went wrong and they all conspired to make for an awful night of comedy. I blame the compere. (Me). Friday I was at Bow Jongleurs with Quincy, Steve Hughes, Papa CJ and Mike Gunn. Mucho rowdy. And tonight I'm at the Banana with I don't know who. Marcus Brigstocke and others. Edit. Not brigstocke, he was on yesterday. but with Reg Hunter, Adam Bloom, Andy Askins and yours truly. We are slowly making progress with Kisses On A Postcard. But it is starting to take shape. We recorded some of the music in the studio and Peter Wilkins has come and board as Exec Producer. There is nothing about theatre he doesn't know. Read the latest newsletter here. And lastly, I have had to pull out of Edinburgh. I was doing a show called Dominic Frisby's Manifesto at Peter Buckley-Hill's Free Fringe, but I have had to pull out - at great inconvenience to him. If you're going to do Edinburgh, you have to do it properly, even if it's the Free Fringe, and circumstances meant that i was just not in a position to do it properly. So there we are. 16 th April 07 Hello All and Welcome Busy, busy bumblebee. Today I was recording some rather excellent Dr Who episodes for Big Finish who Dr Who CDs. Sylvester McCoy was the Doctor, also in the cast were Michelle Gomez, Susannah York, Fraser James, Philip Jackson, Donna Berlin and Duncan Whisbey. Script was by marc Platt and John Ainsworth directed. What fun. Did TransWorld Sport last week and am doing it again tomorrow - with Sue Carpenter, as always. Roary The Racing Car goes to air soon. We record the final eps of the first series next week. And, against my better judgement, have put down to do Edinburgh this year. Will either call show Dominic Frisby's manifesto. Or Dominic Frisby's Problems With Authority. Which do you prefer? Email me and tell me. Red Rose on Sat with Ian Moore, Stan Stanley and Steve Day. Am off to Basildon this Fri and Kings Head on Sat. Talk soon, darlings.
Tally ho.My Darling Loyal Devoted Fans, What am I but a betrayer of you all. Every day you log on to hear my utterances and yet for months I utter nothing. How is that the makings of a successful partnership. Me no utter. You no log. Website go dead. So utter I shall. Well, I saw in 2007 last night with great charm and panache at Jongleurs Leicester. A most down-to-earth people are the people of Leicester. With me were the mighty Junior Simpson, who some would say is even more charming than me. Dom Carroll and Sarah Millican who attended with her betrothed, Gary Delaney. While I am a great admirer of Delaney's work - in fact I would go as far as to say he is the fifth greatest joke writer in the world - I find it very hard to tolerate his views on the fractional reserve banking system and the impoverishing inflation it causes. The night before I attended Bedford with Harvey Oliver, Rich Wright, Steve Best and Mark Maier. But we need not dwell on this. What we must realise is that I have been totoall effing off-my-face ill over the Xmas period. Cough, snot, back ache, head ache the lot. But I soldiered bravely on. You would have been proud of me. Darlings, I have started a new internet radio show on the subject of commodities, called Commodity Watch Radio. You may listen to the latest edition here. Buy silver, buy gold. That's what I say. I have recorded a new series of Rory The Racing Car for Chapman Entertainment with Peter Kay, Tim Whitnall, Marc Silk and Maria Darling. Peter Kay remains the funniest person I have ever met. Many other documentaries and things too. A new series for discovery called iVideogame , on the history of Videogames. Most interesting and enlightening. I came dangerously close to buying my son one. Another for the BBC called A Tudor Feast At Christmas. Scumptious. And lots of the usual promos, ads and other tings, my man. I have had an idea for a hilarious blog/podcast which involves a minimum of effort, so I will pursue that. And I am considering attending the Edinburgh Fringe this year with a new idea I have for a show. But it may be that I will have too much on. We continue laying the foundations for our fundraising efforts for Dad's show. But more on that later. Fear not, darlings, the beard is returning, but for now, Adieu.
October 19th Fans of Frisby, I have some tragic news. The beard has gone. I know, I know. I'm sorry. I know me and my poor decisioin-making are to blame for most of my life's failings. But this was beyond my control. There I was lying in bed early one morning when my son, Samuel (aged 5 _) climbed in a gave me a morning hug. A lovely moment between father and son, I'm sure you'll agree, until I saw this slightly luminescent thing crawling across his scalp. Research on the net quickly confirmed my worst fears. It was a parasitic insect. A louse. A nit. Quick detective work revealed that these inhabitants of hairy places had also made their way to my daughter Eliza's scalp and reproduced, much as gypsies do when given a field or shelter under a flyover. A day later I felt an itchy sensation. A man of my hygienic reputation could not afford to risk the threat of nits in his beard. What is more I was visiting Boston the following weekend to attend the wedding of my dear and close friend, Nick Fox, to the Debbie Berger, daughter of Sandy, and I did not want to be going through US immigration wearing the look of Osama. So a quick trip to the barbers and it was gone. Nevertheless more hair has sprouted in its place. Like Jesus, my hersute magnificence will come again. BTW I spoke at above wedding. Well, at the party the night before. Was I funny? Of course I was. Moving swiftly on to my career, which so interests you all. I have been doing the usual travelling about making people laugh. I attended the notorious Portsmouth Jongleurs last weekend with Gary Delaney, Jim Jeffries, Phil Butler and John Simmit. Needless to say, the great people of P. found me hilarious. I'm sorry to say, Gary Delaney and I came to blows. He is in favour of fiat currency and a fractional reserve banking system (can you believe it?), whereas I am a firm believer in the gold standard. With fiat currency, you leave yourself open to governement control, manipulation and debasement of currency, hyperinflation and depression. Whereas gold is the honest, immutable currency of the free. Fortunately for the audience, neither of us do jokes about this in our acts. Gary also stated his intention to become the best joke writer in the world. He currently believes he lies seventh. I am of the view that his place is higher. His material is brilliant, consistent, consise and subversive; every subject is treated with the same black disdain. No area is too precious. To me, this purity makes him very much the gold standard bearer. Elsewhwere we are making progress with good Kisses On A Postcard. More on that another time. I have been narrating a new series for Discovery called Kings Of Construction, along with the I have the usual trails and promos. I wrote three episodes of Rory The Racing Car, which I hope and pray will get accepted, but overall I am unhappy with my lack of output as a writer. And that's about it for now.
September 14th My darling fans, much has happened since we last spoke. I have recorded thirteen episodes of a new animation series called Rory The Racing Car with Peter Kay, Stirling Moss, Maria Darling, Mark Silk and Tim Whitnall. It's by the incredibly stylish Keith Chapman of Bob The Builder fame and it's very good. Peter Kay currently ranks as the funniest person I have ever met. I have formed with my dad, Terence Frisby, Jeremy James Taylor and Joe Harmston and new company called Vackies Ltd. Our aim is to raise the money to present, then manage Dad's play, Kisses On A Postcard in The West End. It is the best thing I have ever seen in the theatre - apart from my act, of course. I saw its one production in Barnstaple back in 2004 in the same week as I saw The Producers. The Producers was brilliant. But this is better. Fundraising starts now, but we have a big event scheduled at BAFTA for November 28th. If you want to come, email me. If you want to invest, email me. More here at The Official Site. Our aim is to launch the production in Autumn 2007. Lots of v-os too. I am the voice of a new BBC channel called BBC Entertainment in Asia and I Smack And I'm Proud is on this Thursday night, 28th September, on ITV. Usual gigs around the place too. Love you all October 19th Fans of Frisby, I have some tragic news. The beard has gone. I know, I know. I'm sorry. I know me and my poor decisioin-making are to blame for most of my life's failings. Love you all Enlightened Fan Of Frisby and visitor to this site, welcome. Here is my news on September 4th: No news is good news. Comedy, comedy, comedy. Voiceovers, voiceovers, voiceovers. All the usual. Plus website building, new ventures, gold, silver, video editing and so much more. It's all plans, plans, plans. But which of them will materialize? August 9th My dearest darling fans, how I have forsaken you. I have been travelling across the country we call England in the name of comedy. Bristol saw me with Rob Rouse, Inder Manocha and Steve Rawlings; Brentford saw me with Sean Meo, Barry Dodds and Joy Carter; Birmingham saw me with mark Maier, Tanyalee Davis and Colin Cole; Bow saw me with Addy Borg and Keith Fields; Bournemouth saw me with various as did Crouch End. This weekend Watford and Crouch End shall see me. Tonight I shall see my father, the mighty Terence, 's play The Bandwagon in Farnham. I have been voicing. Oh, yes. Trans World Sport, standing in for the voice of Sky, Bruce Hamill, with Sue Carpenter. A documentary about Tudor feasts for BBC 2. Promos lots of lovely promos and a fairy liquid ad. For those of you that haven't read it, I advise you to study this most insightful piece on comedy in the UK today. Click here. The major creative is burst is being to be unleashed, albeit slowly. Tis an unleashment not seen in the career of Frisby since the fertile late 1990s. The bow strings are drawn back. Increasingly taught, when released, an arrow will go through the heart of comedy, or several arrows cos Legolas is the archer. Hundreds will laugh, other comedians will admire and TV executives will ignore. That's what usually happens anyway. By the way, I badly need a proper comedy agent. Please email me if you have any ideas. Cos I don't. I haven't a clue where to start. July 22, 2006, Hello darling fans of Frisby, Futbol Mundial on Monday, lots of promos through the week, Jongleurs Bow last night with Keith Fields, Rudi Lickwood, Shappi Khorsandi and Addy Borg, and Kings Head tonight with Vladimir McTavish, Lateef Lovejoy, Silky, Shelagh Martin, and David Nicholls. Am still unpacking and sorting shit, but a major creative is burst is about to be unleashed, not seen in the career of Frisby since the fertile late 1990s. The bow strings are being drawn back. Increasingly taught, when released, an arrow will go through the heart of comedy, or several arrows cos Legolas is the archer. Please email me if you have any ideas. Cos I don't. I haven't a clue where to start. Anyone see my ex-brother-in-law, David Haye, fight last night? What a controlled performance to retain his European Cruiserweight Crown. Surely the most enlightened comedy critic in the UK, if not the world, John Higgins has written this extremely intelligent, insightful and well informed piece on behalf of the British Broadcasting Corporation. I urge you all to read it. Click here. The documentary I SMACK AND I'M PROUD, produced by Matthew Calais for ITV, which I voiced (and it's. pretty good, I thought) is due out soon. Will keep you posted.
July 6, 2006, Hello darling fans of Frisby, I was in lovely Cornwall last week, came back and moved house. It's all boxes and stress now. I'm at Jongleurs Battersea this Friday (with Tom Stade, Harvey Oliver, Steve Hughes, Matt Dyktynski and Danny Buckler) and then the Kings Head on Sat. (with Rob Collins, Jen Brister, Rob Hitchmough, Sol Bernstien and Kevin Shepherd). Surely the most enlightened comedy critic in the UK, if not the world, John Higgins has written this extremely intelligent, insightful and well informed piece on behalf of the British Broadcasting Corporation. I urge you all to read it. Click here. Futbol Mundial twice this week (I am going to write a rant called Everything That's Wrong With Football) and trails for Sports Relief and Excuse My French). Last week I voiced a documentary today called, I SMACK AND I'M PROUD, produced by Matthew Calais for ITV. I reckon it was pretty good and should cause a fair bit of controversy when it airs this autumn. Don't know where I am next week.
18th June I shall soon be working on my manifesto page. And a new biblical project I have in mind. Despite the weather, the King's Head was great last week with Andrew Murrell, Tom Bell, Steven Carlin and Tommy Campbell. I'm compering new comedians night at the Comedy Cafe tonight (Wed) and I'm back at the King's Head on Sat with Gary Little, Sarah Kendall, Stan Stanley, and Chambers and Nettleton. Ealy June
'm afraid I've become so immersed in the old stocks and shares that I'm rather letting the comedy career fall by the wayside. Having said that, the gigs are going very well. You can see me at the King's Head this Saturday along with Henrik Elmer, Lucy Porter, Jem Brookes, Chris Corcoran, Sarah Millican, and I've been doing lots of jolly voices, but really I need to pull my finger out. Tally ho. Oh, by the way, sorry if some of the media doesn't play. My hard drive bust and the data recovery bloke I sent it to has screwed the disc completely, so all my genius comedy material tereon has been lost. Bit of a pain, what?
My news is ... Darlings, wasn't I simply wonderful as the voice of Pitch Battles on Ch 5 last week? And wasn't the programe simply spiffing? and wasn't I wonderful at the Banana last night (with Mark Walker, Paul Chowdrey, Mike Gunn)? So sorry I couldn't make the King's Head tonight. Kids. This week I shall be voicing both Futbol Mundial and the premiership Preview Show. I shall be performing live at the Comedy Cafe (with Jason Rouse, Andrew Maxwell and Rob Collins). But most exciting of all I shall by flying to Rome and dubbing the voice of Caligula in some new big budget Roman epic thingy. I must find my inner decadence. A presto, amici miei.
MY ENCOUNTER WITH BATHSTORE.COM I needed a new plug for my bath, which is a rather trendy Bathstore.com bath. I drove to the nearest shop, which was a palava, due to traffic. In the shop I spoke to the bejewelled assistant, but, stupid me, I didn't have the serial number of the plug that I wanted. I looked round the various baths in the shop until I found a plug that matched mine. I then asked, quite reasonably I thought, to buy said plug. The man said I couldn't plug in the shop I would have to order it from customer services. I asked the man to call customer services for me and he said his phone couldn't make outgoing calls. So I asked him for the number, he gave it to me and I called them from my mobile in the shop. The girl from customer services told me that I couldn't buy the plug from them, but only fro the shop. I explained that I was in the shop and the man in the shop had told me I could only get it from customer services. The woman on the phone asked to speak to the man in the shop. I looked around for him, but he had gone. I walked outside and there he was running off down the street! I was left standing there on my own with said plug in hand. Bereft of options, I nicked it. Last month I told the story at the King's Head and who should be in the audience but Mike Verrier, a director of Wolsey who had recently bought Bathstore.com. He came up to me in the interval, apologized, took my number, said he'd make it up to me and then nicked my pen! However, a few weeks later, as an apology (for the plug, not the pen) he sent me a gorgeous little Wolsey toolkit. Thanks very much, Mike Verrier.
April 24th A month since I last wrote of my doings. Darlings, darlings, darlings, I'm so sorry. No wonder my hit count is down. well, I shall start with last nght, when I recorded a rather fabbo documentary on the history of England v Germany football matches. To be broadcast on Channel 5 this Wed at 8pm. Was standing in for someone else, so not sure if it'll get used, but I hope it will. I don't know what's happened to my voice lately but it seems to have got considerably deeper, and I am turning into Mr Bass. If you have a programme about Ancient Teutonic Barbarian Warriors I have suddenly become your man. Quite a few other v-os including a gig for BBC Worldwide with the marvellous Andy Luck in which I voice over 250 3-minute nature documentaries. Already done 20 as a pilot and they were very good. I am going to do a proper blog soon, but here's a good Blog Story: MY ENCOUNTER WITH BATHSTORE.COM I needed a new plug for my bath, which is a rather trendy Bathstore.com bath. Finally, lots of lovely gigs this last month, which include Hampstead (with Paul Thorne, Brendon Burns and Greg Davies); East Dulwich Hamlets Football Club - oh, yes - (with Dan Atkinson and Steve Williams); Various Kings Heads (with Stewart Lee, darling James Dowdeswell, Mark Maier, Janey Godley, Cole Parker, Phil Nichol, Russell Kane, Gary Colman, Kevin Bridges, Rick Kiesewetter, Sally-Anne Hayward and many, many more); Various Jongleurs (with Susan Murray, Phil Nicholl, Simon Evans, Mark Watson, Stephen Grant, Gary Delaney, Geoff Boyz, Raymond and Mr Timkons Revue, Ronnie Edwards, Andrew Murrell, Hils Barker) and that's about it. March 27th I have been so ill this last week, since Tuesday I have barely been able to move. Aching muscles, headaches, unbelievably tired and completely bedbound. It doesn't make the greatest copy for the front page of a website, but that's how it has been. Haven't even had the energy to read, watch telly or trawl the net. Pulled all my gigs, except one in Bedford on Friday. Having slept all day, I practically fell asleep driving there, let alone back. Don't know if I've got flu, glandular fever or what. Just writing this entry has knackered me out and I'm going back to bed. I'm supposed to be voicing 20 short natural history films tomorrow. Given my fatigue, it'll be interesting to see how that goes. This weekend is Jongleurs weekend. Thursday I'm compering Oxford, then Friday and Saturday I'm in Battersea. Now I'm going back to bed. March 21st Recorded Futbol Mundial last night. Compered Jongleurs for the first time last Thursday. In Leicester with Curtis Walker, Phil Walker and Dom Carroll. Various exciting things in the pipeline so am remaining nicely on course for world dominiation. Off to Bedford Corn Exchange this Friday with Scott Capurro, Sol Bernstien and Dan Evans. On Saturday I'm back at the King's Head (with Steve Day, Matt and Faron, Paul Kerensa and Kevin Precious. Also went to see Fulham Chelsea on Sunday with Geoff Whiting. I've never seen a game like it at the Cottage. The atmosphere was like a Hearts-Hibs match. It had everythin hooligans (some of them posh), a dodgy referee, a mad preacher with a megaphone, end-to-end action. And all the while this is going on and fights are breaking out around us in the terraces, Geoff and I are sat there with our diaries sticking gigs in. March 12th Voiced a very interesting doco on Thur caled THE GIRL WHO NEVER ATE. For Sky, who are the only people, according to my sources, commissioning serious docos at the mo. just back from Middle East with dave haddingham, Soly O'Sullivan and R David. Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Oman. Dubai and Oman great, AD v. disorganised (the gig, not the place). King's Head excellent on Sat. Henning Wehn, Tommy Campbell, Rob Heeney, Tom Nichol and Howard Read. A lot of exciting stuff in the pipeline at the mo, including world domination, so feeling very positive. Feb 26, 2006 I'm afraid I have mislaid my diary so I'm not quite sure where I am this week. But ... On Friday I voiced the BBC trailers for the England-Uruguay game. I reckon they're pretty good. Next week I do a mini tour of the Middle East: Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Oman. Saturday i'm at the King's Head and tomorrow I am voicing some ads for Lord Of the Rings Chess Pieces.
Jan 26th Off to Stratford tonight to do Adam Montgomerie's gig with Ian Cognito. TITTY BANG BANG, in which I appear, is currently running. What did you reckon. Email me your thoughts, whatever they are. V-os this week: Futbol Mundial with Andy Smith, plus promos for BBC IMP, Teleport Replay and Nat Geo; and Vaseline narratives for BBH.. Back at the King's Head on Sat with James Sherwood, Carey Marx, Susan Vale, Marian Pashley, Ava Vidal. But the most important thing that can happen is to get Sven SACKED and give Stuart Pearce the England job. It's not too close to the world cup. A new manager would inspire the players.Sven has long since lost the dressing room. Pearce would galvanize them. He isn't going to pick a new set of players. With one or two exceptions, the squad picks itself. He's worked under all the top managers from Clough onwards, he's been there as a player and the players would give their all for him. Can you imagine Sven giving you a rollicking at half time? Then can you imagine Pearce? For old news and bloggy stuff, click here. About Jan 15 Not a lot going on this week. Couple of v-os and Hatfield Uni on Thursday with Roger Monkouse and Simon Evans. Brendon is editing the sitcom we shot last week. And the new MY INNARDS stuff. TITTY BANG BANG, in which I appear, was on last night. What did you reckon. Email me your thoughts, whatever they are. The price of gold is rising. Sell your house, buy gold. That's my advice.Jan 9th ish Very treacly night at The King's Head last night with me compering Lateef Lovejoy, Ivan Steward, Greg Burns, Susan Murray and Steve williams. New Year's Eve. Large room in the Bedford Corn Exchange last night with Milton Jones, Gavin Webster, Phil Butler and Rob Deering. Not the greatest room for comedy, but a decent enough show. Film my improvised sitcom next week. Brendon Connelly directs Carmel Howard, Jon Samuel, Steve Williams, Mandy Dickenson and me. Then we're going to do aother MY INNARDS FOR YOUR PLEASURE. Have been speculating on the price of gold and lost. If i'd stuck to my original plan I would be thousands in the black. But I've messed up and now I need the price to drop. Happy New Year. December 23rd Excellent gigs last weekend. Friday's Ha Bloody Ha saw Otiz Cannelloni, Feliz Dexter and Rainer Hersch. Saturday at the King's Head saw Kevin Dewsbury, Steve N Allen, Gerry Kyei, Anthony J Brown, Dan Evans. On both occasions, I was wonderful, of course. Lots of Xmas v-os this week and a nice Premiership Preview Show with Dave Beckett last night. Now I'm done. Happy Chrimbo. DECEMBER 13th TWICE BRIGHTLY, the BBC Radio 4 drama about the early career of Harry Secombe, is broadcast this Satruday afternoon (December 19). Listen, listen, listen. I'm doing the Premiership Preview Show this Thursday, on Friday I'm at Ha Bloody Ha Ealing (with Otiz Cannelloni and Tommy Campbell) and on Saturday I'm at The King's Head (with Kevin Dewsbury, Steve N Allen, Gerry Kyei, Anthony J Brown, Dan Evans). And on Friday night my ex-brother-in-law, David Haye, fights for the European Cruiserweight title. Last week saw a very peculiar Saturday night at Downstairs At The King's Head (with John Oliver, Paul Chowdry, Barrie Hall and Richard Lewis) with Chowdry, who is of Indian descent, accused by a member of the audience of doing Jim davidson jokes. Needless to say, he wasn't happy about it. Also did a Futbol Mundial, various v-os, including some nice new Evening Standard ones wirtten by Rich Johnston. NOVEMBER 26th We recorded Twice Brightly the Radio 4 pilot about Harry Secombe on Monday and Tuesday this week. Directed by Steven Canny, it featured Christian Patterson, Philip Jackson and Katy Secombe. It gets broadcast on December 17th, I think, the last Saturday before Christmas. Very good, I thought. Did another Premiership Preview Show this week with Marcus Buckland. And recorded Now I'm The Boss, a new documentary for Living TV. Tuesday night I was at Farnham Art College with Geoff Whiting among others. last night it was Bedford Corn Exchange with Eddie Brimson, Paul Kerensa and Nick Revell. Tonight it's back to Downstairs At The King's Head with Andrew Maxwell, John Newton, Matt Green, Tony Law, Lee Nelsy Nelson.
NOVEMBER 12th 2005 It looks like I've got a really good part in this new Radio 4 Drama about the early comedy career of Harry Secombe, recording next week and playing out one Saturday just before Christmas. Well chuffed. I'm compering the Red Rose tonight with Stefano Paolini, Matt Kirschen and Chris Lynam headlininig, which should be interesting. Stephen Grant's Bournemouth gig last night, which looked like it was going to be awful, but turned out really nice. On with Norman Lovett, Geoff Norcott and Noel Britten. V-o's going really well at the moment. Seem to be getting loads, including this week a sales video for a new Muslim fashion line. Oh, yes.
NOVEMBER 5th 2005 I'm back at the lovely King's Head tonight, after a busy week in which I have taken in the various delights of Daventry, Blackfriars, Clapham and Shoreditch. Enjoying a very busy period with the v-os, but I can't for the life of me find a buyer for my brilliant sketch show. Channel 4's Comedy Lab rejected it this week. But given how shit they usually are, I should take that as a compliment. And something rather good might have happened which I can't talk about yet. For old news, bloggy stuff, click here. OCTOBER 15th 2005 'm at Cardiff Jongleurs this weekend. I've been very busy with the voices recently, including this week's Premiership Preview Show. I've just come back from Sicily where I was commentating on the America's Cup sailing. If you want to see t some commentary, click here. And I'm coming to the end of filming for Titty Bang Bang, the BBC's new all-women sketch show. If ou want to see my latest short film, click here. It's not really finished but you get the idea.. Otherwise have a potter around the site and enjoy.
SEPTEMBER 15 2005 A very interesting documentary called A Dirty Business about cleaners in London, which I voiced, goes out on the BBC - i think it's BBC 2- this Monday (19th Sept) night, so if you're in front of a telly ... I've just come back from Malmo where I was commentating on the America's Cup sailing. What a great place Malmo was. Ken Livingstone should go there and learn about cycle lanes. If you want to see the commentary, click here. And I'm currently rehearsing Titty Bang Bang, the BBC's new all-women sketch show. I'm one of the token blokes. It's written by Jill Parker and Bob Mortimer - yes, Bob Mortimer - and I can't believe it. Woo hoo. Two of my short films have been selected for the Super Shorts Film Festival 2005 and are screened this week.
